What does it take to get a Show Home Ready?

This month saw us launch the Show Home at our brand new development, Hambrook Gate in the Kentish village of Lenham.

Comprising of 10 individually designed properties this prestigious development has a lot to offer. With a selection of premium 4 and 5 bedroom detached homes in a tranquil setting, we are excited to finally be able to let people in to see for themselves.

Hambrook Lodge is the first home you arrive at when visiting Hambrook Gate, and what a welcome our guests received at the launch. Over 18 months since work started at the site, there was naturally a lot of excitement from local residents and interested buyers, ready to see what had been happening behind those TEXO blue boards.

What does it take to put together a Show Home?

We asked our Interior Designer, Sarah, this exact question. With months in the planning she has led on making Hambrook Lodge (Plot 1), the home that we are able to show to prospective buyers today.

So, where do you start?

‘I work with the team from the beginning to ensure all aspects of a home are incorporated into the design of these properties. As the houses begin to come to life, under the guidance and craftmanship of the brilliant site team, I am there on the journey with them making sure the detailing and finishes within the property are to the quality standards TEXO are known for.’

What’s important to consider when designing a space?

‘Using carefully selected colour palettes and textures, I always look to compliment the surroundings, enhancing a space by emphasising its features. Using statement pieces of furniture or accessories to create a certain feel to a room, I like to choose pieces that are practical as well as visually pleasing.’

You mention colour, but isn’t it safer to stick with monochrome tones?

‘I’m not afraid to use colour in my work, and this is shown in Hambrook Lodge. It can be safe to stick to one colour throughout, but this doesn’t create the homely feeling many people seek to achieve. Hambrook Gate is surrounded by nature, so I opted for softer natural tones for the rooms. I found this was especially important in the kitchen/dining area as it means the feeling of inside and outside blends wonderfully together. I use accessories and furnishings to add brighter splashes of colours and to add in a contemporary feel. Mixing patterns and shape add interest and texture whilst also allowing flexibility in choice for personal tastes.’

Demonstrating the flexibility of the spaces within the development, the Show Home offers plenty of choice in what you could do with one of these homes. From bedrooms, guestrooms and home studies all the way through to princess palaces and jungle retreats. You really can make the spaces feel like home for the whole family.

If you would like to see the Show Home for yourself, please contact us on 01622 391788 to arrange an appointment. Hambrook Lodge is open for viewings weekends only between 10:00 and 16:00.
